At first glance, the topics of gun control and abortion seem to only share being incredibly polarizing topics. And if someone has an opinion on either, it tends to be very strong. Today I joined my alma mater's marching band in the 4th of July parade, and along the route (I don't remember which street it was on) there was a house celebrating gay pride.

It had a huge rainbow flag, and on a second story balcony was a group of people watching the parade, including two shirtless guys hugging each other.
